Laying tile on rapid-set adhesive

  • Mix only what you can lay. Rapid-set goes off fast, and a bucket that's gone stiff is wasted.
  • Comb it out with the right notched trowel for the tile size, and use a solid bed — no dabs — on floors and anything large-format.
  • Back-butter big tiles so the whole tile is supported.
  • Rapid-set means you can usually grout the same day — check the bag before you do.
