SBR admixture & bonding agents — the one bottle that fixes half a dozen jobs

SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) is the trade's go-to liquid additive for concrete, screed, render and mortar work. Add a splash to a mix and you get better adhesion, more flexibility, improved waterproofing and reduced shrinkage cracks. Prime a substrate with it and new work bonds to old concrete like it was poured together. Every plasterer, tiler and screeder keeps a bottle in the van.

What's in this collection

  • Bondit SBR Admixture 5L — the standard 5-litre trade bottle. Enough for a full domestic tiling primer job, several screed patches, or several days of render mixing at typical dilution rates.

Common trade uses

  • Sand & cement screeds — added to the mix, gives improved flexibility, waterproofing and abrasion resistance. Reduces cracking on drying.
  • Tanking / waterproof rendering — a slurry of SBR + cement is the classic base coat for wet-area walls and below-ground brickwork.
  • Bonding new concrete to old — brush neat SBR onto the existing surface before pouring new. New material bonds mechanically and chemically.
  • Repair mortars — mix into pointing mortar for spalled brickwork and stone repair; extends life and improves weatherproofing.
  • Tiling primer — brush diluted SBR onto low-porosity or powdery substrates before tile adhesive. Improves adhesive grip.
