ForgeMaster masonry drill bit, 5.0 x 150mm. A tungsten carbide-tipped bit for drilling stone, brick, concrete and most masonry.
The 5.0mm diameter drills for a brown (8–12 gauge) wall plug and heavier fixings, and the 150mm length reaches through render, batten or insulation into solid masonry. The specially ground tungsten carbide tip is heat-treated to last, and the hexagon shank grips in the chuck without slipping, so it drills faster and doesn't spin. Sand-blast finish for durability.

Match the hole to the plug – a snug 5mm hole grips a brown plug. Use hammer mode on brick and concrete and clear the dust before plugging. For lighter fixings and red plugs, drop to the 4.0mm bit.
