Brown plastic wall plugs, for 8–12 gauge screws – pack of 1,000. The larger wall plug for heavier screw fixings into masonry.
Brown is the bigger of the two common sizes, sized for 8–12 gauge screws. Set in a pilot hole, it expands as the screw goes in and grips the sides of the hole – the choice when the fixing carries more load: heavier brackets, battens, timber and fittings on brick or block.

Match the drill bit to the plug for a snug hole, clear the dust, tap it in flush, then drive the screw. An oversized hole won't grip. For lighter screws (6–10 gauge), use the red plug instead.
