Owlett Jaton A2 stainless steel screws, 5.0 x 40mm – box of 200, Pozi (Pz2). The shorter 5.0mm stainless woodscrew for external fixing into thinner sections.
Same A2 (304) stainless corrosion resistance as the longer sizes – no rust bleeding through timber or render on decking, cladding, fascias and coastal work – but the 40mm length suits thinner boards and sections where a 50mm screw would punch through or foul something behind.

Pilot-drill hardwood and board ends – the 5.0mm shank can split thin timber if you don't. Don't overdrive; stainless is softer than a hardened screw. Keep the whole joint stainless so nothing's left to rust and stain. For deeper sections, step up to the 5.0 x 50mm.
