Owlett Jaton A2 stainless steel screws, 5.0 x 50mm – box of 200, Pozi (Pz2). The heavier-gauge 5.0mm stainless screw for external timber fixing that has to hold and never rust.
Same A2 (304) stainless corrosion resistance as the 4.0mm, but the thicker 5.0mm shank gives more holding power and shear strength – the right choice for decking boards, heavier cladding, framing and load-bearing outdoor timber. Stainless means no rust streaks bleeding down the timber or render, on exposed and coastal work alike.

Pilot-drill hardwood and board ends – the 5.0mm shank splits thin or brittle timber more easily if you don't. Don't overdrive; stainless is softer than a hardened screw. Keep the whole joint stainless so there's no plated fixing left to corrode and stain.
